The Port Gibson High School Sounds of Distinction Marching Band recently achieved a remarkable victory at the “No Way Out Battle of the Bands” held in Natchez, Mississippi on Saturday, April 13. Competing against top high school band programs from Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas, the band excelled and secured first place in their division.
This triumph granted the Sounds of Distinction the opportunity to compete in the final battle against other division champions. In the Ultimate Showdown, our band delivered an outstanding performance that led them to defeat all the competing bands and earn the prestigious title of Grand Champion of the entire battle.
In addition to their overall success, the band's Drumline was honored with the award for Best Percussion Section, while the Wavettes and Sharkettes were praised for their exceptional talent and poise.
