JACKSON, Miss. — The Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) disputes State Auditor Shad White’s claims that the agency is ignoring state law in its implementation of the Equity in Distance Learning Act (SB 3044) and is making it difficult for districts to purchase technology for students.
Claiborne County School District Addresses Concerns of Dated Milk
Good afternoon parents, students, and stakeholders of the Claiborne County School District. It was brought to our attention on today, August 19, 2020 at 12:40 PM that milk that was delivered to students earlier today had an expired date printed on the bottles.
The district has contacted our milk vendor, Borden and we were informed that the printing machine that stamps the date and time on the milk bottles had malfunctioned and that the company had been contacted by several other districts regarding this matter.
The milk that was delivered to our students on today was not expired. The correct date that should have been printed on the bottles is 8/24/2020. The vendor will provide a letter of explanation detailing the situation and will deliver and exchange milk with the correct expiration date printed on the bottles first morning.
The Claiborne County School District always strives to ensure the health and safety of all students. For any future occurrences as such, we ask that you please contact the CCSD Central Office at 601.437.4232 and we will make every effort to resolve your concerns.
